I haven't seen anything recent from Steven Wright, but yeah... I love his dry style.

omg you guys crack me up

i am a huge reggae fan and have a modest collection (arounfd30 gigs of mp3) love reggaetorrent.com (too bad they died)
i recommend big youth, johnny clark, Jah Tomas for the early rootsy stuff
also dig the dub style of the mad scientist and dr. alimantado....you can smoke an ounce to that...he's the best dressed chicken in town (album title)

also enjoy some dj stuff like the down tempo global lounge beat...here are a few of my recommenations
babay mammoth, kid loco, bebel gilberto, and loop guru dam some funky sheet

i grew up in the "305" club scene so used to love the e nights on trance and fusion hip hop rythmes battling the b-boys popping and locking wasuup bitches

btw-happy to share music

Bebel Gilberto along with Vinicius de Moraes, Chico Buarque and Antonio Carlos Jobim really make up for me some of the most relaxing stuff I've heard specially their saudade samba. That is the stuff dreams are made of.

Anyone play vinyl anymore? I have like 300 LPs and still spin them. I quit paying attention to the music scene like 15 years ago so I don't even know what you guys are talking about...lol. I still listen to my old-school punk stuff mostly with a little bit of "classic" rock (anything 10 years old is considered "classic" isn't that gay?). You guys ever hear of Pandora Radio? Really cool free site that lets you listen to your favorite bands all while letting you hear different bands that sound similar...old and new. You can set as many "radio stations" as you like and save the songs you want to keep and/or boot that ones you don't. I think I have like 12 stations right now: Clash, Misfits, David Bowie, Super Suckers, Police, Cheap Trick...etcetera. I usually turn on Pandora when I'm working on the computer and chillin'. It's a cool way to get a fix on what you like with a twsit. Rock out!

Yes, but my turntable needs a new cartridge. Over 1,000 records here, a lot of 12" house from the late 80s and early 90s. I used to collect 7" singles of American 60s and 70s soul. I love the Clash and the Police... Just got the best of Big Audio Dynamite and have been listening to that lately.
