RU_EXP! I love you! I can't believe that you actually printed this! No one until you has actually mentioned this as a great line in a movie! Alright, now we need to get drunk together and watch Young Frankenstein so we can see who can quote the most lines...lol! Mel Brooks is one of my heroes!

Young Frankenstein has no peer! That would be a great time being drunk as hell watching this one. I was crazy about Marty Feldman when I was a kid. People thought I was weird...I guess some things never change.

My personal classic tale: I was traveling on business in Boston arranged to meet an old friend from college at the Natick Mall (upscale...snooty) that Saturday. As he sees me coming down the escalator he waves to get my attention and I wanting to let him know that I am still the same guy he always knew, felt compelled to do something well within my character:

I watched everything he was involved in. I must've watched History of the world 40 times. High anxiety, Spaceballs, Robin hood, Blazing saddles, Young F...what a legend. Do you remember that song: Marty Feldman eyes? Super.


I gotta catch another soon. I wish we all lived closer, that would be a great movie night.

Back before the internet was in everyone's homes and when things were still "risque" for kids to be seeing things like R-rated movies or a Playboy laying around - me and my (male) friends from school died laughing the first time we saw History of the World part 1 - I think we were around 13-ish at the time and I had gotten it for an overnight birthday party or something. The opening scene with the primitive men masturbating and then falling asleep was fodder for a lot of joking at school - especially during gym time (many other scenes too)

It is hard for me to choose a favorite between Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. It all depends on the day and the mood. I was also around 16 when I saw History of the World...I wanted to a eunuch

As a final note, I would have loved to see Richard Pryor (Mel Brooks' original choice) to play the sheriff. It is hard to imagine what it would have been like but it would have been a classic mix.
