Finally happened...my video card went out first thing this morning. My entire system is liquid cooled which means I would have to go out and find another Nvidia liquid cooled card. The system is going on 7 years old.
I am not sure if I want to dump money into a new (we are about to adopt our kids here in the next couple of months).
I will think this through and figure out my next steps. Lately there have been post about building some pretty nice systems for under a grand or so. Who knows...but for right now you will definitely be seeing a lot less of me.
7 years old??? What kind of video card was it? AGP? Holy cow... time for an upgrade anyway. I bet we can find you a cheap video card and matching water block, and if you've got a little skill you could put it in yourself.
Post again if you want to try it... and yes, congrats on the kids!

Ru,
Congratulations on the family and sorry to hear about your system. Do what you feel is most important...man we never hooked up for Borderlands

Congrats on the family RU. I just went through something similar with my 6yr old machine. I decided it was time for a quadcore upgrade. Got an awesome system for $570 delivered from Adamant PCs.
After I set it up last weekend, I noticed that seemed different than the one I ordered. I think they sent me the wrong system because, its better than the one I order (I had to check). It even came with xp pro, which I know I did not order.

We are approved to bring in up to 6 kids...I know that sounds crazy but that's what we are approved to do. We want to start off with an infant < than 6 months old. We have negotiated that we will accept up to four kids at once just to get an infant. We have focused our efforts on getting kids that are in the "system" of Family/Child Protective Services.
We have no race/sex/or religous preferences.
We are excited. Very very excited. This is a longer process than you can imagine.
Side note: I wanted to adopt WeedVulture but his parole officer said no way.
